Dee + Kiel - South Miami Engagement Session
I knew this would be a good one when we spoke for the first time over Skype. We went over some ideas for their special engagement session, but Dee and Kiel (pronounced "Kyle") came up with some pretty good ideas. They wanted it to be more of a story, something with a beginning, middle and end. They also wanted to represent their true characteristics/spirits through imagery. We talked about fire (Kiel is a firefighter and has always been fascinated with it) and dancing (Dee is a dancer), so we wanted to create scenes that involved the two. I also made sure to include other things they love like skateboarding, music, nature, a couple beers. I rarely get these ideas from clients, so I was elated to cultivate something like this and tell their story.
This is the kind of stuff that gets me really excited. I want to tell everyone's story. Your engagement photos don't have to look like everyone else's. You're unique as a person and especially as a couple, so that should show in your photos. I think it's important to let those differences shine in a beautiful way, and it doesn't have to be traditional or ordinary. The best thing you can do is be open, authentic and embrace your individuality.
