ABOUT ANDREA

I have three loves in life: family, nature and photography.

The days I'm not making pictures, I'm usually marveling at falls and mushrooms on hikes, meandering around a market with my family or just enjoying my home in Greenville, South Carolina where we paint, tend to our veggie garden & chickens, bake and make forts.

I started with black & white film on my Pentax k1000 when I was studying photography. I loved losing sense of time in the darkroom, it was very meditative and I miss it terribly. Since then I always loved the feeling of film - the intention, the nostalgia and timelessness of it. So I do my best to give you that feeling in my work. For me, a good photo has soul, it lets you in and might even share a secret. It evokes a feeling like any other art form, but it also has a fond memory attached it. I’m not interested in creating a scene/feeling that doesn’t align with who you are. I’d rather capture you and what your joy & love looks like. I leave room for you to be present, connect and really feel the hand you are be holding. I want you to stop and fix each other’s hair in a tender way. I want to see the crows feet when you smile a smile that is yours. I want you to remember what it felt like in that moment.

I believe that in 50 years, your favorite photo will probably be the one that best represents yourselves in that time and space; it could be as simple as a loving gaze or a long hug. I'm here to tell your story, to simultaneously be a gentle guide, a friend and a fly on the wall…that tells awkward jokes from time to time.

Now for some random facts.

I'm a: wife of a tenderhearted man of few words, mom of 2 beautiful babes, a Corgi and cat mom, foodie, lover of the outdoors, dreamer, softie, hopeless romantic, poetry writer, dark chocolate addict, shameless shower singer, extroverted introvert, terrible hairdresser, a painter, a writer, a feeler, and an overthinker.
