Jen + Derek - Intimate Miami Wedding

Jen and Derek had to make the difficult decision to cancel their plans for a large wedding with all their favorite people due to the pandemic, but that didn’t keep them from celebrating their eternal love with their family and closest friends. I love when brides and grooms get ready at their own home because it’s the best setting to tell their story. In Jen and Derek’s home were photos of their families, and Jen asked me to use her late grandmother’s wedding photo somehow. She told me that the quilt laid on her bed was her grandmother’s and then she handed me a gorgeous vintage silver wedding band that also belonged to her late grandmother. I wanted to feature their family’s history and culture. Jen is a photographer herself, so I made sure to showcase her photographs on the wall beside her dress. There was so much love and warmth all around them. It was a hot and sticky summer day, but no one seemed to mind. They carried on with laughter, hugs, speeches and happy tears.
