Martha + Chadwell - Glenville, NC
I loved Martha and Chadwell’s energy. Their joy was contagious and their day was full of happy tears and endless laughter. The wedding was set at Sawyer Family Farmstead in gorgeous Glenville, NC which was the perfect setting for an early November wedding. You could see the mountain’s foliage for miles, and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky, which matched the tone of the wedding. It was a cheerful wedding I had the honor of capturing. Martha and Chadwell wanted to do a first look in a private setting, so I took them to a section of the farm where they were growing pine trees. Right after the first look, they read aloud a letter to each other. I always try to read the “room” and decide if I should steal the moment with photos or literally walk away and give my couple some space. In this case, things were getting so emotional, that they looked like they were a bit stifled by my presence. I decided to give them room to let it all out (with their signal of permission). I managed to grab a few from a distance…because the moment was just too beautiful not to capture somehow. They were troopers through the cold and the hour of couple’s and family photos we set time for. Once that was over, I became the fly on the wall, just grabbing as many little moments as I could throughout the night. Even after Martha and Chadwell left their wedding reception with a sparkler send-off, I felt there was a little more to the story left, so I grabbed shots of the guests playing with the sparklers and stealing kisses. What can I say? I’m forever a hopeless romantic.
